Latest Projects accomplished in Iraq

Khanzad American Village
Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq
SIGMA INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION LLC


Sigma International Construction is developing and building a large housing complex consisting in more than 400 luxury villas in Erbil, Kurdistan including land development and complete infrastructures. The project is partially financed by Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and will be completed by the end of 2008.



The project was inaugurated on February 20, 2007 by US Under Secretary for International Trade Mr Franklin L. Lavin and KRG Minister for Housing and Construction.

Al Muthana Airfield Old Airfield Military Base
Baghdad, Iraq

CH2M HILL CONSTRUCTOR’S Inc.
Located in Central Baghdad, Al Muthana Old Airfield has been fully renovated from November 2005 to April 2007. Sigma participated to the project at the very beginning installing concrete batchplants facilities and building double tee roof panels on site. Sigma first completed a large DEFAC and 12 other buildings, later other buildings were completed including the Courthouse, GSU buildings and a large Generator Farm to provide electrical power to the entire military base. The total amount of contracts awarded to Sigma exceeded 17 Millions USD.


Camp Butler, Besmayah, Iraq
WESTON SOLUTIONS Inc.


In December 2006, following the failure of their original
Subcontractor, Weston awarded Camp Butler’s construction to
Sigma. Located south of Baghdad, the project consists in building
full Military base facilities and accommodations. The project will
be extended for additional new constructions in June 2007.



Camp Charlie, Hilla, Iraq
LAGUNA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Inc.


Located in Hilla, Camp Charlie is an old military base to be fully renovated. Awarded in July 2006, the project consisted in building a large generator plant to supply the base, in renovating all the old barracks and offices, and implementing a fuel station. The technical difficulty Sigma faced and solved on this project came from the site high water table that had not been identified until the construction started.



BAGHDAD POLICE COLLEGE, Baghdad, Iraq
LAGUNA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Inc.


In September 2005, Sigma has been awarded the construction of two 3 Floor Barracks for Baghdad Police College. The project was completed on May 20, 2006. Custom form works were used to improve quality and expedite the schedule. In August 2006 Sigma has been awarded the second phase of the project including the DEFAC and the laundry building. The total amount of work awarded exceeded 10 Millions USD.




Fuel Station, Camp Honor
International Zone, Baghdad, Iraq
INNOVATIVE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS Inc.




One of Sigma’s recent projects in Baghdad International
Zone. It is not a very large scale project but it is very
qualitative. Most of the equipment has been imported
from the United States. The end user and client, AFCEE,
recommended it as the “nicest fuel station built in Iraq”.





IED and STDF Training Facilities
Sulaymaniah, Kurdistan, Iraq
LAGUNA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Inc.

Awarded in the last days of 2005, the project consisted in building a full training facility against explosive devices near Sulaymaniah in Kurdistan. The facility included building driving tracks simulating city, rural and highway roads. The project was completed in 90 days.
